SMEs – Leading Britain into the Post-Brexit Economy

Wednesday 6 July 2016 17:08:43 Europe/Dublin

According to the government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, SMEs count for nearly half the turnover in the UK private sector, and over half the employment. SMEs clearly make a considerable contribution to the UK economy and have the potential to make a huge impact in post-Brexit Britain, but they are often pushed out of the media limelight by large businesses, and their value underestimated.

SMEs have a nimbleness that larger organisations cannot emulate – with their capacity to adapt, and adapt quickly, in an ever-changing business environment, SMEs can be much more reactive, rather than having to drag a slow and cumbersome behemoth behind them.  If you are heading up an SME, the fact that you have probably always been operating without the support of a big team or the comfort of the financial cushion larger companies may enjoy, is already evidence of your ability to move with the market – and it is this pragmatic flexibility that may put SMEs at the front of the pos...

The dangers presented by contaminated endoscopes have been highlighted recently, after at least seven people treated in one US hospital were infected with a potentially lethal strain of bacteria after undergoing endoscopic procedures.  The complex design of endoscopes makes preparing them for reuse both labour and time intensive, but Disposable Medical Instruments (DMI) may have the solution, helping to relieve pressure on busy CSSDs and further developing its commitment to supporting hospitals as they work to save costs and increase efficiency.

DISPOSABLE MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS LAUNCHES IN SOUTHERN IRELAND

Monday 1 February 2016 10:30:04 Europe/Dublin

Disposable Medical Instruments (DMI) is proud to announce the launch of Disposable Medical Instruments (Ireland) Ltd.  Although the company already has several agents in key global markets, this initiative marks the first time DMI has set up an operations base outside the UK, and is evidence of its commitment to embracing everything the European marketplace has to offer.  DMI (Ireland) will have its own offices and director.

DMI (Ireland) has been established in response to DMI’s growing role in the European medical device market: pricing goods and services and accepting payment in euros will make it even easier for other countries to access DMI’s customised packs of single-use stainless steel medical instruments, designed to support healthcare institutions as they look for ways to save money and work more efficiently and safely, ultimately benefitting patients.  It will also enable DMI to extend its endoscope sterilisation and certification service to hospitals in Southern Ireland, fre...
